Stataesville Woman Charged After Alleged Beating Of Juvenile

A Statesville woman has been charged with felony intentional child abuse with serious physical injury.

On Wednesday, the Statesville Police Department arrested 37-yeaar-old Myeshia Sharetta Tomeka Dukes. Arrest documentation reveals the suspect allegedly struck a juvenile with a broom stick until the stick was broken. Dukes also struck the child with a piece of cable and stomped the juvenile while on the ground.

Dukes is being held without bond in the Iredell County Detention Center.
