Staatesville Man Charged With Attempted Murder

Zaquaze Alphonzo Cotton, 27, Villiage Point DR., Statesville, was arrested by the Statesville Police Department early Saturday morning. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, assault by strangulation and communicating threats.

The female victim of the alleged assault suffered serious injuries. Coton was arrested on October 3rd and charged with felony assault with serious bodily injury, crime of domestic violence and assault on a female. The charges involved the same alleged victim.

Cotton is being held without bond in the Iredell County Detention Center. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
