Smash And Grab At Boone Walmart

A man has been arrested after he allegedly used a baseball bat to steal jewelry from a Walmart in Boone this past weekend.

Boone Police say 30-year-old Peter Grant Catoe, went into the Walmart on Saturday around 8:45 p.m. He’s accused of using a bat to damage jewelry display cases inside the store and steal several items.
It is unclear how much the stolen jewelry was valued but the items were recovered during a search of the suspect’s home.

Catoe is charged with felony larceny and felony damage to property. He was booked into the Watauga County jail and was given a $25,000 secured bond.
