Shots Fired Into Morganton Home, Suspect Charged

30-year-old Alexander Carpenter of Morganton was arrested Friday morning by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling and misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.

Thursday, December 4, at approximately 8:00 pm., Officers responded to the 300 block of Center Street in reference to reports of shots fired into a residence. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the occupant and confirmed that no injuries had occurred.

The suspect, Alexander Carpenter (pictured) was located at a nearby residence early this morning and arrested. Carpenter was placed in the Burke County Jail without bond. A first appearance in court was scheduled today.
