Fire destroyed a home on Sunday in the Wittenburg Community south of Taylorsville.
Wittenburg, Taylorsville and Ellendale Fire Departments were dispatched to 325 Jimmy Shook Ln around 2:35 pm. A single-wide mobile home was ablaze when units arrived.
Three residents were able to escape the flames but the home is a total loss according to Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle. The cause of the fire looks to the result of an electrical outlet that was faulty according to Earle.
One resident did sustain some burns but was not transported to a hospital.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
