Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman is warning citizens of a scam reported over the course of the last several days.
A man identifies himself as an Energy United* employee and asks for entry to a residence to check the indoor breaker-box. In one instance the suspect attempted to enter the home but was thwarted.
Sheriff Bowman reminds citizens to be very cautious when allowing anyone into your home. If you have concerns, call the County Communications Center at 828-632-2911.
