The Alexander County Veteran Service Office advises the public of an ongoing scam in which local citizens are being asked to send money to veterans whom they have never met. It seems that scammers are developing online relationships, claiming to be in the military and need assistance. On a related note, the Alexander Senior Center is hosting a “Senior Scam Seminar” on July 28 with Ann Elmore of the NC Department of the Secretary of State. The seminar will be held at the Bethlehem location (Mt.
