Boone: Watauga dominated Alexander Central and stayed atop the Northwestern Conference on Tuesday night. The Lady Pioneers led from start to finish and had a 33-14 halftime lead. Kate Sears was the top scorer for Watauga (6-1 and 14-5) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Meredith Wike poured in 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for AC. The Lady Cougars drop to 3-4 in conference play and 13-8 overall.

The Cougars led 40-38 going to the 4th quarter to see Watauga dominate the final period 17-3. Rebounding was a huge advantage for the Pioneers as they out-boarded AC 31-15. Jayon Connor was the Cougars top scorer with 24. Jace Blocker led a balanced Watauga attack with 16. Watauga improves to 5-2 and 14-6. The loss puts the Blue and Gold at 4-3 and 10-10.
