** Breaking News ** Rape Charge Filed Against Taylorsville Man

A Taylorsville man has been charged with rape.

Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 45-year old Randall David Mitchell on Friday and charged him with 2nd-degree forcible rape. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1 million.

Mitchell is scheduled to make an initial appearance on Monday, May 16th in Alexander County District Court.

Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman said Friday afternoon the investigation is ongoing. More information on this case will be released later.
