Last Thursday and Friday, March 10-11, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, along with Taylorsville Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and North Carolina Department of Public Safety conducted a two-day “Operation Spring Clean.” The operation concentrated on the areas of NC Highway 16, NC Highway 127, and US Highway 64/90 East from approximately 3-11PM.
The operation was a drug interdiction which is part of the continuous fight against narcotics in the county. During the course of “Operation Spring Clean”, numerous vehicles were stopped for various motor vehicle violations.
This operation resulted in the following:
Seven Arrests, Including:
Two Wanted Persons
Two Driving While Impaired
Three Drug Arrests
44 Traffic Violations
Approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine, $640 in cash, drug paraphernalia, a quantity of marijuana, and various pills were seized during the operation
The Sheriff’s Office K-9s, along with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety K-9, assisted in this operation.
