HICKORY- On Sunday, November 30th at approximately 5:32 P.M., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Catawba County. A 2019 Honda Civic was traveling North on 12th Avenue Drive, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a parked vehicle and then collided with a utility pole.

The driver of the Honda, Uribe Enedino, 68, of Conover, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.

The front seat passenger, Jose Uribe, 21, of Conover, was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

The back seat passenger, Rosa Uribe, 28, of Conover, was transported to an area Hospital with critical injuries, she was not wearing her seatbelt.

The initial investigation indicates Mr. Enedino had a medical condition before the collision which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
