One Killed In Crash On Saturday In Iredell County

March 14, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

One person was killed in a single-car crash on Saturday in Iredell County. Three others, including a child were injured.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was called out around 1:25 p.m. to investigate a fatal crash on Interstate 77 South, near Exit 35 at Brawley School Road.

Troopers say a 2001 Ford Explorer headed south hit the concrete median barrier, overturned several times, and went down an embankment. Three passengers were injured. The fourth person in the vehicle, 49-year-old Niki Rochelle Jordan of Statesville was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. Jordan was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is ongoing.
