One Injured In Eastern Alexander County Fire

A home in Eastern Alexander County was destroyed by fire this afternoon and one person was injured.

Hiddenite, Stony Point, Taylorsville, and Ellendale units responded to a mobile home residence off Old Mountain Road at 2:25pm. One of the three people in the structure was injured and transported to an area hospital. The nature of their injuries have not been confirmed.

County Deputy Fire Marshall Mark Earle said the home is a total loss. He indicated the fire started in a bedroom, possibly due to an air conditioner malfunction.
