North Wilkesboro Man Sentenced To Prison For Sexual Exploitation

A Wilkes County man is serving a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 39 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to eight counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of a firearm by a felon and being an habitual felon in Wilkes Superior Court on July 20.

David Michael Wyatt, 51, of North Wilkesboro, was sentenced as part of a plea agreement.

According to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, they charged Wyatt with 10 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor. Their investigation followed a report of potential child pornography being dowloaded from the National Center for Missing Children through the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force last October.
