On Sunday, February 9th, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Byrd Ridge Road. Officers were attempting to locate a gray Mazda that had been taken without authorization. Deputies spotted the vehicle being driven by Terry Hinson, who had previous felony parole violation warrants that were active.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the Mazda and it fled on NC 18 North towards Alleghany County. With the assistance of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the vehicle was stopped inside Alleghany County. Hinson then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by Officers after a short pursuit.”
It was learned that Hinson was involved in a domestic violence situation in the Byrd Ridge Community.
