A North Wilkesboro man has been charged in connection with an incident in which two people were shot Saturday night near Boone.
Early Sunday morning, the Watauga Sheriff’s Office charged Stephen Ned Nobles, 27, with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Nobles surrendered without incident after Watauga Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained his name as a suspect.
Watauga County Emergency Communications received multiple 911 calls around shortly after 9 pm Saturday about shots fired at a large gathering on Will Cook Road.
Two shooting victims were transported to Watauga Medical Center in Boone for treatment.
Nobles allegedly fled the scene in a pickup truck according to a news release.
