Troy Allen Deese
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Troy Allen Deese was located in Smyth County, Virginia, on July 23 with assistance from the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody on a warrant charging him with one count of felony concealment of death.
Investigators have identified the victim as 43-year-old Amanda Brooke Williams of Valdese.
The investigation began on July 20 after deputies responded to a reported suspicious death at a residence in the 3200 block of Barus Pond Loop in Valdese. Detectives requested assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, which continues to assist in determining the circumstances surrounding Williams’ death.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible as detectives continue gathering evidence.
