36-year-old Robert Alan Hunter of Newton was arrested Friday evening by Hickory Police and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in the city, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Hunter was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $35,000. He is scheduled to make a Monday court appearance.
