Murder Charges For Morganton Couple

A Morganton woman and man have been arrested and charged with murder.

Wednesday evening, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dylan James Rogers, 30, and Tammy Duckworth Boone, 50 and charged them with murder in the death of 41-year-old Brandi Deal.

Deal was found Friday evening, February 10th in her Morganton home. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Deal was pregnant and scheduled to give birth on Saturday, February 11th.

Rogers has previous felony convictions of attempted speeding to elude arrest,  receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Boone’s only previous felony conviction for possession of schedule II controlled substance.

The two suspects are being held without bond in the Burke County Jail.

Investigators have not commented as to a possible motive in the killing.
