STATESVILLE- On Friday, May 1st, at approximately 8:20 p.m., The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision on Whites Farm Road near Ingram Road, in Iredell County. A 2013 Ford Edge was traveling South on Whites Farm Road and crossed the centerline and collided head on with a 2025 Kawasaki Motorcycle that was traveling North on Whites Farm Road.
The driver of the Kawasaki, Michael Alan Gandy, 57, of Statesville succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the Ford, A 17 year old Juvenile male, of Statesville, was not injured.
The initial investigation does not indicate impairment as a contributing factor but does consider speed to have contributed to the collision.
Charges are pending on the Juvenile after consultation with the Iredell County District Attorney’s Office.
