Motorcycle Collision Is Fatal In Catawba County

May 24, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Catawba – On Friday, May 23, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Catawba County on Hudson Chapel Road near Brown Chapel Road.  A 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling west on Hudson Chapel Road lost control, crossed the centerline, and collided head-on with an eastbound 2019 Honda Civic.

The driver of the motorcycle, Django Alexander Rosenbaum, 24, of Sherrills Ford, was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Honda, Noah Jonas Buff, 21, of Denver, and two other passengers were not injured.

The initial investigation indicates excessive speed to be the contributing factor in the collision.  During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.  No charges will be filed in this case.
