Morganton Woman Shot Over Weekend

A Burke County woman was shot over the weekend and a man is in custody according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. 59 year old Bryan Keith Williams is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill following an incident Saturday evening at Williams residence near Morganton.

The victim identified as Muranda Brook Walker was transported to a regional medical facility after sustaining a gunshot wound. Her condition is not available at this time. Williams was placed in the Burke County Detention Center under a secured bond of $100,000.
