Morganton Man Charged With Breaking Into Church

26-year old Matthew Wade Kersey of Morganton has been arrested by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking & entering to a place of worship and larceny after breaking & entering.

On April 23, shortly before midnight, an Officer arrested Kersey at Lenoir Road and Valley View Street in reference to an outstanding order for arrest. He was initially brought to the Burke County Jail under a 48-hour hold. No upcoming court dates were listed.
