More details in connection to the arrest of an Iredell County man who faces an attempted murder charge in Catawba County.

Steven Eugene Harris
According to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Steven Eugene Harris has multiple convictions listed dating back to April, 1995. Harris has been convicted on felony and misdemeanor charges in Catawba, Caldwell, Iredell, and Alexander Counties. The charges include felony drug, assault, and firearm offenses. The most recent conviction was in May, 2017 in Caldwell County.
Harris turned himself in at the Alexander County Detention Center in Taylorsville on Tuesday. He was then transferred to Hickory Police custody and was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility Wednesday morning under no bond. Harris remained in that facility as of earlier today (November 30) and he was still being held without bond. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled Wednesday, the next District Court date is set for December 14.
