More Charges Filed Against Bethlehem Doctor..Updated

Another charge has been filed against a doctor who was arrested last week in Alexander County on child-porn related offenses. On Monday 31-year old Richard Dean Jordan of Bethlehem was charged with felony secret peeping. He made a court appearance on Monday and had bond set at $270,000. He remains in custody as of earlier today.

Jordan is also charged with 4 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The offensea are related to the downloading of child pornography according to Sheriff Chad Pennell.

Jordan was listed as a doctor of Cytopathology working in Residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

The Wake Forest University School of Medicine issued thw following statement on Monday.

“The charges are of deep concern, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation. Once we were notified by law enforcement, we took immediate action to place him on administrative leave per our policies. At this time, we have no reason to believe any of the alleged activities occurred in any of our facilities. We are unable to comment further due to the ongoing investigation.”

Update: 9:30 am…The new charge of felony secret peeping was filed in Iredell County where Jordan also has a listed residence. Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell said this morning that he expects additional charges to be filed in Alexander County as well.
