A fatal fire has been confirmed in Wilkes County.
Firefighters responded to a fire on Rock Creek Road in the Mountain View community Thursday morning found a deceased man in an apartment.
41-year old Christopher Daniel Pardue who lived at the residence has been identified as the victim. An adult female who lived at the same location was able to escape the flames.
Units from multiple Wilkes County Fire Departments were dispatched around 5:15am.
Investigators from the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, State Bureau of Investigation and State Fire Marshal’s Office are working the case.
