Man Gets Minimum 75 Years For Statutory Rape In Alexander County

Sentencing Update on July of 2020 Statutory Rape Investigation:

On July 21, 2021 Shawn Beau Croteau appeared in Alexander County Superior Court to face 4 counts of First Degree Statutory Rape of a Child and 4 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.

Croteau was found guilty of 3 counts of First Degree Statutory Rape of a Child and 4 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child. He was sentenced by a Superior Court Judge to serve a minimum of 75 years to a maximum of 105 years in the NC Department of Corrections.

This sentencing stemmed from an investigation and arrest that occurred on July 19th, 2020.
