Man Gets 60 Days Jail Sentence In Alexander County Court…Story Updated

40-year old Rodney Lee Jones of Taylorsville was sentenced to serve a 60 day jail term during a session of Alexander County Superior Court on Monday.

Jones was sent to the Alexander County Detention Center for child abuse by omission or neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Jones was arrested on the charges in October, 2021 by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.

He has a conviction dating to 2016 in Catawba County for sexual battery. He served a sentence of 150 days and placed on the NC Child Sex Offender Registry.
