Man Facing 19 Counts Of Statutory Sex Offense

A Statesville man has been charged with 19 counts of first degree statutory sex offense following an investigation that began in August.

50-year old Jose Rosendo Marquez was arrested in the state of Virginia after the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office learned he fled there. He was taken into custody on November 23rd and extradited to the Iredell County Detention Center on December 9th. The offenses date back as far as 2017.

Marquez is being held in the Iredell County Jail with a secured bond of $2.5 million.
