Man Convicted Of Murder In Wilkes County Court

A State Road man has been sentenced to at least 23 years in prison.

28-year-old Daniel Martin was convicted last week in Wilkes County Superior Court. He was convicted with the second-degree murder of 17-year old Jonathan Lindbergh Watson, a neighbor. The shooting death took place on May 10, 2020. The judge announced a sentence of 23-29 ½ years.

Martin’s attorney gave notice of appeal of the conviction.
