Man Charged With Statutory Rape Makes Taylorsville Court Appearance Today

A Cleveland County man charged with statutory rape in Alexander County makes a court appearance today in Taylorsville.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies traveled to Cleveland County and arrested 41-year old Carol Henry Maloney III of Grover. He was charged with five counts of statutory rape and five counts of sexual activity by a substitute parent. He remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $400,000.

According to a news release, the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be forthcoming.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
