
Timothy Franklin Wing
Upon their arrival at the location, it was determined that the victim was deceased.
Detectives were able to identify 32-year old Timothy Franklin Wing of Rowan County as the suspect who provided fentanyl to the victim before his death.
An autopsy of the victim was conducted by the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office. Toxicology results just returned to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office due to the extended wait time for toxicology results from the state lab, indicate the death was from a fentanyl overdose.
Based on all of the evidence gathered throughout this investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Wing for Felony Overdose Death by Distribution. Wing also qualified for an enhancement of the Death by Distribution charge due to his past criminal history.
Wing was arrested on Friday, November 17th by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $250,000.
The suspect has an extensive criminal history that includes convictions for Felony Trafficking of Methamphetamine by Possession, Felony Trafficking by Possession of Heroin, Fentanyl, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Breaking or Entering, DWI Level 5 and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
