Man Charged With Embezzlement In Catawba County

A Garner man has been charged with embezzling from a client in Catawba County. North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced the arrest of 26-year-old Tyler Dionysius Englin. He was charged with felony embezzlement.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Englin, owner of the public adjuster company TDE Claims LLC, of embezzling $133,097.26 from a Catawba County client.

According to the arrest warrant, Englin was entrusted to receive the claim for his client but Englin kept the money and did not transfer the money to him.

Englin was arrested in Johnston County on October 30 and given a $150,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in Catawba County District Court last Friday (October 31).

The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation regarding complaints the Department of Insurance has received about Englin and TDE Claims.
