31- year-old Deron William Norwood of Lenoir was arrested this morning on multiple charges by Newton Police. Norwood is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of cocaine, trafficking in opium or heroin, failure to appear for possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and resisting an officer. Bond was set at $49,000 in the Catawba County Detention Center. Norwood is scheduled to appear in court today.
