Man And Woman Arrested On Drug Related Offenses While On Property Of Alexander County Church

In the early morning hours of Saturday June 7th, Alexander County Deputies arrested 37-year-old Mathew Cole Chapman of Mocksville. He is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony littering hazardous waste and possession of drug paraphernalia. Allegedly, Chapman attempted to place an amount of methamphetamine at the entrance of the Stony Point Baptist Church. Chapman is being held under a secured bond of $40,000 and is scheduled for district court in Taylorsville on Monday.

Jessica Lee Lackey, age 39, Highway 90 E Hiddenite, was taken into custody as well and charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later charged with two-counts of felony possession of controlled substance on jail premises. Lackey is being held in the county detention center with a secured bond of $40,000. She is scheduled for court on Monday as well.
