Maiden Man Killed In Lincoln County Accident

July 6, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Lincolnton – On Saturday, July 5, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Lincoln County on NC 150 at Medical Center Drive. A 1992 Nissan 240 traveling south on Medical Center Drive attempted to turn left from a stop sign onto NC 150 and turned in front of a westbound 2003 Dodge Ram 1500.

The driver of the Nissan, Hunter Ray Tidmore, 22, of Maiden, was transported by medical helicopter to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, Teddy Wilson Houser, 55, of Lincolnton, was transported to Atrium Health Lincolnton with minor injuries.

The initial investigation indicates speed and impairment were not contributing factors in the collision. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours. No charges will be filed in this case.
