A Maiden man has been arrested and charged with statutory rape of a child. 25-year old Caleb Mathew Hale was charged Monday by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office with two counts of statutory rape of a child 15 or younger, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $10,000. A Tuesday court appearance is scheduled in Newton.
