Love Valley Woman Facing Felony Drug Trafficking Charges

On October 30, a Deputy with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office spotted 56-year-old Susan Carol Montgomery of Love Valley, driving a Dodge Ram truck along Wilkesboro Highway. Knowing that Montgomery did not have a valid driver’s license, the Officer conducted a traffic stop

During the stop, it was suspected that Montgomery may have been transporting illegal drugs. A Deputy and his K9 partner, arrived to assist. It was quickly determined there were drugs inside the truck. A search uncovered 66.7 grams of methamphetamine,2.49 grams of heroin, nine Xanax pills, several drug pipes, and a digital scale.

Montgomery was taken into custody and charged with

Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling / Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Montgomery was placed without bond in the Iredell County Detention Center. Following a bond hearing the suspect was granted a secured bond of $40,000. She remains in custody.
