VALE – On Sunday, December 17, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Lincoln County on Bill Ledford Road near Cat Square Road. A 2007 Ford Fusion was traveling east on Bill Ledford Road, crossed the centerline, drove off the left side of the road, and struck a ditch.
The driver of the Ford, Brook Morgan White, 35, of Clover, South Carolina, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She was not restrained by a seatbelt.
The initial investigation does not indicate impairment or speed to be a contributing factor in the collision. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.
