Vale– On Wednesday, January 24, at approximately 2:10 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Lincoln County on Hoover Elmore Road near Cat Square Road. A 2003 Honda Element was traveling west on Hoover Elmore Road, drove off the right side of the road, and struck a tree.
The driver of the Element, Jessie Allen Adams, 37, of Lincolnton, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Adams was not restrained by a seatbelt.
The initial investigation does not indicate impairment or speed to be contributing factors in the collision.
