For the first time in the history of Lenoir-Rhyne Basketball the Bears have reached the Elite 8 !
LR beat UNC Pembroke 76-74 in overtime Tuesday evening in Sweet 16 matchup in the NCAA Division II Playoffs
The Bears led by as many as 19 in the 2nd half to see the lead wilt and go into overtime.
The win sends LRU to Evansville, Indiana for a game against Washburn (Kansas). The contest is set for 9:30 pm on Tuesday, March 25th.
