The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim killed in a mass shooting overnight.

A spokesperson said this afternoon the shooting that wounded 11 others was not thought to be random. More than 80 shots were fired both inside and outside the residence in the Mountain View Community.
One other victim is still listed in critical condition at a regional medical center. Some of the other shooting victims have been released from the hospital while others remain in medical care.
The FBI and SBI are assisting in the investigation.
