Lenoir Man Gets Minimum Ten Years For Attempted Murder

A man from Lenoir will spend at least 10 years in prison for his role in a New Year’s Day shooting that seriously injured a man in downtown Hickory.

Javier Hampton Trevino Jr., 21, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in Catawba County Superior Court on Thursday.
Superior Court Judge Nathaniel J. Poovey imposed a prison sentence of 10 to 13 years for the conviction.

Trevino shot and injured a bystander, identified as Jordan Blake Ramey of Yadkinville. The shooting occurred around 2 am. on January 1st at the intersection of Second Avenue NW and Main Avenue NW.

Patsy Elaine Humphries

Trevino and a woman, previously identified as Patsy Elaine Humphries, of Lenoir, left a bar in downtown and were involved with an argument with two other people. Humphries, 31, of Lenoir, is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to court documents. Her case has yet to go to trial but her next court appearance is scheduled for December 8th in Newton.
