
Dylan Kyler Tolbert
The charges follow a previously reported investigation into a convenience store robbery and sexual assault.
Tolbert is charged with two counts of common law robbery and one count each of second-degree forcible sex offense and larceny of a motor vehicle following a series of incidents on July 14th at the Run-In convenience store on Hickory Boulevard in Lenoir.
Officers developed probable cause to formally charge Tolbert.
On July 14th, a man entered the store, sexually assaulted the clerk, and stole money from the register and from her person. The suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle and fled. A short time later, Officers found the stolen vehicle, crashed and abandoned a short distance from the store.
Following his arrest Wednesday, Tolbert was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $350,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Lenoir.
