Lenoir Couple Arrested After Shooting Incident Along Highway 321

A Lenoir man and woman faces charges after Caldwell County Deputies say a man was shot while in his car along Highway 321 on Thursday.

25-year old Dakota Dale Huffman is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and 29-year old Tiffany Michelle Rich was charged with accessory after the fact. Rich is reported to have been with Huffman when the shots were fired.

Derek Scism, 30, of Lenoir, was shot once in the cheek and once in the chest at the intersection of Highway 321 and Warrior Road Thursday morning. Investigators say the shooting appears to be the result of a feud between the two men. Scism is reported to be in stable condition.

Huffman was placed in the Caldwwell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $100,000. Rich was detained under a bond of $50,000.
