The North Carolina Department of Commerce has released the latest unemployment figures for the month of June.
90 of the state’s 100 counties saw the rate of joblessness increase from May.
Statewide unemployment was at 4 percent in June up from 3.6 in May.
Highest unemployment…Edgecombe County at 5.8 percent
Lowest unemployment…Carrituck County at 3.1 percent
Alexander 3.8 up from 3.5
Caldwell 4.1 up from 3.8
Catawba 3.8 up from 3.5
Iredell 3.7 up from 3.4
Wilkes 4.2 up from 3.9
