It’s obvious, Alexander Central’s women’s basketball team is good, how good ? The Lady Cougars beat Fred T Foard in the semi-final of the Dick’s Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament on Tuesday in Hickory.
Up only 8-5 after the 1st quarter, the second seeded Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Tigers 21-5 in the second period. All 12 Alexander Central players saw action and all 12 scored led by Chesney Stikeleather’s 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Alexander Central is 11-0, Foard falls to 8-2. AC will play Newton Conover on Wednesday for the championship. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
