Alexander Central 3 Lake Norman 2
Mooresville: Alexander Central has had a lot of blowout wins this season, Wednesday night was certainly not one of them.
Freshman catcher Lyla Mayberry’s solo homer in the 6th broke a 2-2 tie. Lake Norman had bases loaded with 1 out in the home-half of the 6th but AC escaped turning a 1-2-3 double play.
Laney Wike picked up the win and Macy law came on to get the final 5 outs for the save. Wike had an rbi as well.
The win is the 15th straight for ACHS and moves them to 18-1. Lake Norman falls to 8-8.
Next up Friday night it’s the state’s #1 ranked Lady Cougars hosting #2 South Caldwell at Central Park.
