Taylorsville: Laney Wike pitched a 1-hit shutout and had a pair of hits as Bunker Hill gave Alexander Central as much as they could handle on a chilly wet night at Central Park.
Wike walked three and fanned 10. Bunker Hill’s Serena Thurman went the distance allowing the game’s only run with one-out in the 7th when LF Laney Mayberry singled in pinch-runner Aniston Chapman.
The Lady Cougars improve to 14-1 while Bunker Hill is 11-4.
AC will travel to Ashe County on Friday.
