An Iredell County teacher has been charged with the statutory rape of a student.
On Wednesday, July 20th, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding a teacher possibly having a sexual relationship with a student.

Based on the evidence gathered , three felony arrest warrants were issued for the suspect. A search for Bailey was conducted but she could not be located.
Bailey turned herself on Monday, August 1st at the Iredell County Detention Center after an arrangement had been made between the District Attorney’s Office and her attorney.
Bailey was charged with felony statutory rape of a person who is 15 Years of age or younger, felony indecent liberties with a minor and felony sexual activity with a student.
Bailey is said to be a science teacher at Northview Academy, formerly known as Pressly Alternative School. She was first employed with the Iredell-Statesville School District in 2010 as an assistant.
Iredell-Statesville Schools say Bailey has been suspended with pay pending an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was given a 75,000 secured bond and placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
